A week of theatre, readings and parties that fills downtown every other summer – founded here in 1989.
Founded in Winston-Salem in 1989 by the North Carolina Black Repertory Company, the National Black Theatre Festival brings productions, workshops, film and celebrations to venues across downtown. It runs in odd-numbered years and draws visitors from across the country.
Festival weeks are some of the busiest of the year in town – book your stay early.
